"The Knife that started it all."

This knife was found in the rafters of  an old garage.  I was called out to take a look at the knife. It was badly rusted and almost thrown away by home owner before he called and asked if I wanted it. After six months of restoration I brought this knife back to life by hand but left some divets in the blade, because I knew this knife went through a lot in it's life.

I knew Major Frank McKinney had his Vietnam Kabar thrown out by his first wife. So customized the handle with cocobolo wood. Then I put a file notch for all his tours and years of duty. I presented the knife to Frank and he was astonished. To this day he will let nobody touch his knife literally! Not even his superiors.

Read His Testimony About the Knife, LOL.  He mentioned everyone who saw it wanted one....so we started making more knives so Major McKinney does not have to share his!!!!

Custom  Marbles Damascus Double Bladed Knife: thirty four layers of polished steel.  Tight brass guard with Utah Buck Antler Handle. Light file work and custom leather sheath made to hang low and comfortably from the waist. It bares the Marine Emblem and is a favorite of Kris Martinelli's.

Army First Lieutenant  Dee McMillan

When this Veteran received  this knife we can't tell you what he did or he would probably use it on us.  Dee was so humbled and impressed when Glen McGhie gave this to him it was incredible.

This was our largest knife to date, very  fitting for Dee Mac's stature and service for our country.

Custom Honor Knife Bowie Style made of 440c steel and Red Heart Handle with mosaic pins and over a foot long. Glen McGhies makes all our sheaths by hand, every stitch and mark.  Every sheath made is overshadowing his original work each time.

Custom Honor Folding  Knife

All wood and file work by Kris Martinelli. Knife came as Winchester blank.  All file work and wood work was done by Kris. Every piece metal on the knife has been filed. Kris even files wood.

Wood is Southern Farmed Bocote and treatment is a family secret he learned from his uncle, Glen McGhie.  Major Frank McKinney might let some touch this knife?  Kris learned his file skills from the late Earl Dillion whom Roger Combs of Gun Digest Book of Knives 4th Edition Mentions and did an article on Earl  as one of the great unknown file men. Kris has been proud to learn from Earl and now be taken under the wing of the great Chuck Stapel.

This was a gift for Marine Sgt. Todd McGhie.

This Marine Honor Knife was made from a Case XX gut hook and transformed into what you see here.  The handle is made of bamboo and has no lacquer on it.  Glen is a master at using the family secret he created to add a high polish and protective layer to wood without using major chemicals. This is an example of a very high gloss handle that is no slippery even when wet, yet the  wood is protected and the wood is still allowed to breathe.

This is a must feel  and see to believe.  When Mr. McGhie received his knife in the mail his wife stated Todd just cried and then ran to Michael's to put it in a shadow box so nobody could touch it or use it?? What is it about these Marines and their Knives????

More knives that have been custom made except for Kris's Craftsman Shrade from the fifties on the bottom. The Craftsman Shrade was found rusted and abused until Kris restored it and added Elk Antler and some file work. More examples of different knives we make.

All our designs except for Kris's Craftsman with the Seabee Emblem laying on the sheath are for sale. We are  ready to make you a knife with your unit or special emblems.

We also have someone who makes the best shadow boxes for these knives that allow the knife to be displayed and used when needed.

This Custom Purple Heart Honor Knife has received many accolades.

The Wood Handle is made of South American Framed Purple Heart that molds into your hand. Inlaid on both sides is the Purple Heart Medal. The knife is a Marbles Bowie Style 440c steel with tight brass guard.  The custom made sheath is detailed with The Purple Heart Emblem and purple stitching that surrounds a purple heart. Another Glen McGhie master piece.

This is a Chuck Stapel Master Piece waiting to be customized into your Honor Knife.

Chuck is known for his movie knives...Quigley Down Under, Magnificent Seven, The Alamo, Little Nikita and hundreds of adds and commercials.  He is the first knife maker to sell a knife over ten thousand dollars. But his dear friend Bob Loveless holds all records!!

Major McKinney, Kris, Glen and Chuck are trying to present  knives for the military that not only are made to with stand gun shots, but also allow knives to become equal with guns.

Knives that can be thrown without accuracy and still hit there mark,  etc. This is just a side project!
